VIENTIANE, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Team We Run in cooperation with Australia Embassy to Laos are organizing a 385-kilometer charity run to support Lao Friends Hospital for Children in Lao northern Luang Prabang.
The run started from Lao capital Vientiane early Monday morning and will arrive in the northern World Heritage town Luang Prabang on Friday ahead of the fifth annual Run for Children: Luang Prabang Half Marathon slated for Sunday which is also raising money for the hospital.
The "We Run 385 km for Children" campaign has been organized by Team We Run, a group of runners volunteering to help raise funds to support charitable causes, in partnership with Australian Embassy to Laos.
The campaign was organized to coincide with the annual half marathon charity run in Luang Prabang raising funds for the Lao Friends Hospital for Children which provides free medical care and health education to youngsters in the country's north.
The group has participated in numerous charity fun runs, including Siem Reap Half Marathon, Cambodia plus Khonkaen Marathon and Khao Yai's Unique Run in Thailand, to raise funds for those affected by deadly earthquakes that struck Nepal, according to Team We Run.
